The existing house had several typical 1980s/90s additions including a UPVC conservatory and a crudely constructed attic conversion. The attic also suffered from a poorly positioned access stair which made the first and second-floor space inefficient and divided. Repositioning the stair through all levels, created easier orientation and additional usable space. A new master suite in the attic with an enlarged dormer and picture window offers magnificent views to the south. At ground floor, the conservatory was removed and a new extension built over the full width of the rear elevation. A new patio area finished in silver/grey granite pushes into the rising garden a further three metres creating level access from the kitchen and dining areas. The ground floor is finished in dark stained oak herringbone flooring throughout.  Externally bronze anodized glazed screens, soffits and reveals along with dark stained oak paneling keep the material vocabulary consistent inside and out.
